New Years Resolutions & Christmas debrief
|
What's your New Years Resolution? Will you stick at it this year? If you want to 'Organise Everything' this is the best place to start (and finish!) We will help keep you on track and make sure that you can start again in 2010! So let's start with Christmas while the memories are still fresh! Was Christmas 2009 the best ever? Did you have the wonderful break you hoped for? Was it exactly as you planned? If it wasn't, you should ask yourself 2 questions.
- What went wrong with my plans?
- Did I plan?
"Failing to plan is planning to fail" (Alan Lakein quote) This may sound harsh right now, especially if you didn't plan. Planning is the single most important thing to getting and staying organised. We will be reminding you of this over and over again this year (think 'nudge' not nag!)
It doesn't matter if you have never been good at planning, all you have to do is follow our weekly instructions. The first thing you have to do is think! |

Make some time, before Sunday afternoon (by 3pm) just to sit and think about being organised and what it means to you. Why do you want to be organised? Grab a blank exercise book, a pen & paper and sit in your favourite quiet place. As soon as some reasons come to mind, write the date & time in the top right hand corner and put your reasons on paper. Will being organised next Christmas mean you have a more peaceful time? Will it mean you just have more time? |

Now you've had some time to think, you may have been reminded about some emotional stuff. If you are starting 2010 off with some bad feelings about someone, please don't let it go further than right now. It's hard to concentrate on the good stuff (organising everything) when your focus is somewhere else. Now, this may be controversial to some, but whoever it is, whatever they did, forgive them (It may require you to go through the process a few times in your head- you'll feel much better) |

Dealing with all the paperwork that comes into our homes daily can be very time consuming and stressful. The stream is endless. TODAY is the day when you can start to get it into order. To complete your nudge this week you will need to find a spot to keep your mail/newspapers/magazines. Make it special by finding a small box to store it in, one that you like the look of! The idea is not to store it forever, rather somewhere to keep it until you are ready to deal with it. |
